Today, acclaimed Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland)-based collective The Circling Sun release their highly anticipated second album Orbits via Soundway Records.

Following the success of their 2023 debut Spirits, the group returns with a deeper, more expansive offering—one that explores the outer edges of spiritual jazz, cosmic funk, and analogue synth experimentation. Rooted in rhythm yet unbound in imagination, Orbits is a radiant evolution of their signature sound.

A defining feature of the record is the increased presence of the Love Affinity Choir, whose layered, celestial harmonies bring warmth, gravity, and a sense of communal uplift to the music. Together with vintage synthesizers, deep percussive grooves, and soaring brass and woodwind, Orbits feels both grounded and galactic.
