The ecological and political reggae album Green Leaves by Sheila & Des Majek has been remastered and made available on digital for the first time.

The visionary husband and wife duo wrote and recorded the album in 1989 in Nigeria, having started an agroforestry farm and become members of the Nigerian Conservation Foundation. While the committed activists penned their ode to planet earth at a time when environmentalism was not considered commercially viable or mainstream, it was an impassioned call to raise awareness around a topic that is now more important than ever.

Proceeds from the original release were donated to the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF), a partner of the World Wide Fund for Nature. To continue in the spirit of the release, Soundway will pledge our profits to the NCF, as well as releasing the album on 5 December 2023 to coincide with World Soil Day.
